<p>PURPOSE:To reproduce data in a position, where the center of the width of a reproducing head is coincident with the center of the width of a recorded track, by detecting the deviation value of the reproducing head to the breadthwise direction of the recorded track. CONSTITUTION:The recorded track, which is recorded in a magnetic recording medium by two-channel division, is reproduced by reproducing heads 25 and 26 whose width is made wider than that of a recording head. Then, the whole width of the recorded track is reproduced by the reproducing heads 25 and 26 and by detecting 29 time difference between the two channels of a reproducing signal in a range that a reproducing output is fixed, the deviation value of the reproducing heads 25 and 26 to the breadthwise direction of the recorded track is detected. Thus, the phases of the recorded track and reproducing heads 25 and 26 can be adjusted so that the reproducing heads 25 and 26 can reproduce the recorded track by a central value between the upper limit value and lower limit value of the time difference.</p> |
