<p>PURPOSE:To enable detection of right and left turns of a steering wheel and to detect a steering angle from a slit in a central position by disposing first and second photosensors so that slits in a slit disk be detected with a phase shifted. CONSTITUTION:A slit 6 is provided in the central position of a slit disk 9 and it is not detected by a photosensor 7, but detected by a photosensor 8. These sensors 7 and 8 are disposed so that slits in the disk 9 be detected with a phase shifted. Accordingly, right and left turns of a steering wheel can be detected from a phase shift, while the number of times of turns of the steering wheel from the central position, that is, a steering angle can be detected by detecting the slit 6 for detection of the central position.</p> |
