ELECTRIC CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY

PURPOSE: To fit a pin firmly into a socket electrically and mechanically by forming a fitting interface between the pin and the socket terminal and by providing an elastic belt interface member having multiple contacts to elastically engage the pin into the socket contact terminal. CONSTITUTION: A pin 30 and a socket contact terminal 10 consist of piercing molding members of a high specific conductance having a barrel crimp section that crimped around a wire 8. The electric connector assembly forms an electrical and mechanism fitting interface between the pin 30 and the socket contact terminal 10 and is provided with an elastic belt interface member 40 that elastically fits the pin 30 into the socket contact terminal 10 electrically and mechanically. The elastic belt interface member 40 is a comparatively short cylindrical body and has a lower specific conductance and higher elasticity than a material of the pin 30 as well as than the socket contact terminal 10. Therefore, a secure coupling of male contact terminals into female contact terminals is attained by using respective spring belts.
