Winning equipment in mine - is mounted on self-propelled tracked vehicle and has toothed milling roller and conveyor belt system

The coal or mineral winning machine is mounted on a self propelling tracked vehicle in a mine. It includes a transverse milling roller (1) with cutting teeth (4) around its outer surface. The excavated material passes to the inside of the roller (1) and onto a moving belt (11), from where it drops onto a conveyor belt (12), and then into a hopper car (13) which runs along a tunnel rail parallel to the line of travel. The teeth (4) are rocker mounted on individual pivoted chassis, which are in turn fixed to beams running coaxially along the outer surface of the roller. USE/ADVANTAGE - Coal or mineral winning machine in mine can operate in both directions with out having to turn around.
