Fabric-reinforced plastic material is produced by covering both sides of a fabric with polymer and hot pressing the different materials together. Initially the fabric mesh is filled with a powder or paste of the same polymer used. A reel of (pref.) polyethylene sheet is drawn off to a fixed plate together with a fabric. Powder, also pref. of polyethylene, is spread across the whole width of fabric from a flat sheet nozzle and is lightly pressed into a fabric by a doctor blade. ADVANTAGE - The method enables close mesh fabric to be covered with plastic material in a simple way in which the two plastic coverings are at least partly bonded together.
