The supporting beam is for concerete shuttering and is connected to similar beams or supporting heads. It is a hollow profiled extrusion with hooked lengthwise edges, and end plates with mating recesses at the bottom for the edges of adjacent beams. Flanges (4) join onto the end plates (5) at right angles and overlap the sidewalls (7) of the beam (1), forming a U-section connector (3). On the beam sidewalls are brackets (8), protruding for the thickness of the flanges at least, and spaced apart for the height of the flange overlapping portions. The flanges are fixed to the sidewalls and/or brackets. ADVANTAGE - Forms stronger joint between end plate and sidewalls.
