An electrical connector for use with circuit boards has a series of pairs of contacts (25) that engage the edge contacts of the board. The contacts are produced in parallel from metal pressings that are inserted into the plastic housing (1) by the aid of a press tool (4). Once in position the common edge strip of the pressing is removed. The leaf spring contact arms are shaped with small lugs that latch over projections (21) in the housing to provide retention. The ends are cranked (27) to locate against the tool.
