The monitoring circuit, for multidigit codes in PABX exchanges consists of a matrix with crosspoint diodes. It is designed to reduce the number of storage elements needed. The columns of the matrix are connected at one end of a pulse generator and at the other to a detector. The rows of the matrix are connected to input counter chains. One counter chain and the pulse generator are controlled by a register receiving input pulses which are applied to the second counter chain.
