PROTECTIVE DEVICE FOR CANNULAS

A protective device designed to prevent injury to medical personnel when replacing a cannula cap on a used injection cannula comprises a support (336) with a straight channel (354) which receives the cannula cap. The channel (354) is arranged at the bottom of a depression and is surrounded by a smooth surface (353) which cannot be pierced by the cannula. The surface (353) is essentially wider than the cross-section of the channel (354). An interchangeable saw (366) is arranged on the support (336). The support (336) is a plastic injection moulding in the form of a hollow cube made from resistant material which is cast with a casting compound. Cylindrical depressions are made in the casting compound.
