摘要 PURPOSE:To decrease the substantial length of resonant tubes as the engine speed is increased, increase the inherent frequency as a columnar oscillating system, and obtain a resonant effect over a wide engine speed range by providing a through hole and sluice valves opening or closing the through hole and having an inherent frequency. CONSTITUTION:Pressure and speed changes are generated in resonant tubes 3A 3B on both sides of sluice valves 111-113 in response to the engine speed. The intake air alternately flows between both resonant tubes 3A, 3B through valves 111-113, and a force displacing a sluice valve plate 17 by oscillation is applied. When the engine speed is low, the amplitude is large, the sluice vlave plate 17 is depressed to a bulkhead 6, and an intake passage is closed. When the engine speed is high and the frequency of the pressure change is increase, the sluice valve plate 17 is oxcillated with a small amplitude without hitting the bulkhead 6 and the sluice valves are left open.
