[Also in Division E1] A self-loading vehicle has a shovel 3 for excavating and raising material for loading in the load container 2 of the truck and means 4, 5 for, when the shovel is raised, moving any material in the shovel into the container. The shovel and the container are so mounted on the chassis of the vehicle as to be pivoted as required by hydraulically actuable rams about a common axis extending transversely of the chassis. The means 4, 5 comprises a scraper blade 4 pivoted on arms 5 pivoted on the container, the pivotal movements of the blade and the arms being controlled by suitably positioned rams. At least part of the shovel is so curved that it will coincide with the path of the free edge of the blade 4 when the blade is removing material from the shovel.
