The beacon (2) contains the appts. (4) and transponder groups (7,7a,8,8a). A drone (9) has a transceiver (10) and directional antenna (10a,10b) for interrogating pulses (11) and response signals (12,12a). The drone (9) interrogates the beacon (2) which responds with a transponder-echo. The relative time difference is measured and used by the on-board processor to calculate the bearing of the main axis of the beacon relative to the drone. Pref. the beacon only transmits in the direction of the received signal. USE/ADVANTAGE - Final phase guidance by direction beacon difficult to discover and damage or destroy by detection of optical or electrical field radiation.
