TOWEL DISPENSER

A towel dispenser incorporates a pair of guide plates (7) provided along either side of a towel passageway of a towel dispenser body (l), to avoid sideways displacement on winding the towel. A front lid (36) is pivotally mounted by means of pins (38) engaging side plates (2) of the dispenser body (l), and has shaped side tabs (37) engaging sprung rollers (l2) in the side plates (2) to support it independently in an open position when replacing the towel. To keep the cover (36) closed when necessary, it has towards its lower end forwardly extending notched tabs (40) for engagement by transverse pins (20) on forwardly extending arms (l8b) of a rod (l8) pivotally supported between the two side plates (2). By fitting the prongs of a key (35) through a slotted disc (33) in the side plate (2) the arms (l8b) can be urged downward out of their sprung engagement with the notched tabs (40) to release the cover (36).
