<p>PURPOSE:To set the overall memory capacity of a packet exchange to a proper value by selecting and connecting a packet switch-board in a class adapted to a maximum number of simultaneous connectable calls read out from a data base of subscriber data preliminarily registered in a line exchange. CONSTITUTION:Plural kinds of packet switchboard 9 and 10 which are divided into classes by the maximum number of simultaneous connectable packet calls set on a channel 3 and have memory capacities corresponding to these classes are provided in a packet exchange 8 provided after a line exchange 4. When being called by subscriber terminals 3 and 17, the line exchange 4 reads out the maximum number of simultaneous connectable calls of each ISND subscriber line to be connected from a preliminarily registered data base 7 of subscriber data and selects and connects the packet switchboard 9 or 10 in the class adapted to this maximum number. Thus, the overall memory capacity of the packet exchange is set to a proper value.</p> |
