PURPOSE:To execute the temporary generation of a read error in an arbitrary position between tracks by connecting a tester for a data error detecting circuit to a data transfer route between the device of a magnetic disk and magnetic disk controller. CONSTITUTION:At the time of generating the read error in a certain address in a track by using a magnetic disk device 10, position information from an index to generate the read error is written through a signal line 104 to a register 30 beforehand, and when a read action is started by an instruction from a magnetic disk controller 60, a servo signal from the device 10 is given through a servo signal line 102 to a counter 20 and the counting is executed. Next, the addresses in the counter 20 and register 30 are compared by a comparator 40, and when they do not coincide, a gate 50 is opened, and data from the device 10 are transferred through signal lines 101 and 103 to the device 60. When the addresses coincide, namely, when the address to generate the read error reaches the position on the track, the gate 50 is closed by a coincidence signal, and the error is generated. |
