<p>PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous detection from occurring by stopping the traveling of a tape when a light transmitting part is detected under the state of fast forwarding or rewinding, deciding that it is a real tape end when the light transmitting part is detected again with the aid of a terminal detection device under the state that the tape is stopped and deciding that it is a tape flaw when the light transmitting part is not detected. CONSTITUTION:A controller 1 detects the terminating end of the tape when an action mode is a fast forwarding FF mode and detects the starting end when it is a rewinding REW mode. Then, when the starting end or the terminating end is detected, the controller 1 stops a motor 54, makes a pause action and counts a time for more sufficient time than a time that the tape is actually stopped after the pause action by an internal timer. Then, the terminating end is detected again in the case that the original action is FF. When the terminating end is detected, it is judged to be the real terminating end of the tape and the action is finished. When the terminating end is not detected, it is judged that a terminating end detection circuit 19 executes malfunction by the flaw of the tape and the REW action is executed again. Thus, the erroneous detection is prevented from occurring.</p> |
