PURPOSE:To easily input a job by storing a data set name relating to each data set stored in a floppy disk medium and its positional information in a data set label index table and displaying the 1st of data set names by referring the table. CONSTITUTION:Data set labels stored in the floppy disk medium 6 are red out by a data set label reading means 5 and the data set label index table 3 storing these labels is formed by a data set label index table forming means 4. Then, the list of data set names registered in the formed table 3 is formed by a data set name displaying/inquiring means 2 and displayed on a display device 1 and an operator is allowed to specify a data set name storing an objective job stream. Consequently, the operator can easily input only the objective job.
