PURPOSE:To construct the circuit part of a fluorescent lamp in small size and suppress the cost by allowing a part of a core to be used commonly for a discharge transformer and a heater transformer, accomplishing a consolidated structure, and thereby compacting the transformer part. CONSTITUTION:A discharge transformer 10 and a heater transformer 11 use the same core 12b partially and are embodied in a consolidated structure. The gaps between the core 12b and the core portions which are not shared by them commonly are dimensioned properly to prevent magnetic saturation of the core 12b and to relieve the degree of bond of two magnetic circuits. The transformer part 11 operates only at the time of starting, followed by start of discharging, and thereafter the transformer is put out of operation. Then another core 12C performs heat radiation for the transformer 10 through the heat sink effect. Thus the two transformers 10, 11 are consolidated, wherein one makes that radiation for the other, which allows accomplishing a small-sized structure to lead to making the whole circuit small, which also ensures suppression of cost. |
