PURPOSE: To pause a forming press in a short time by placing stack articles between heating plates of the press in a vacuum container in the case of heating the stack articles to a suitable temperature, and pressing it in vacuum. CONSTITUTION: Stack articles 3A are pressed from a charger 2 to a preheater 5 by a pusher 4. Then, stack article 3B placed between heating plates 7 and 8 of the preheater 5 is heated to a moldable temperature in vacuum in a vacuum container 6. Thereafter, the article 3B heated by the pusher 12 is moved to a molding machine 12. And, the heated article 3C is press formed by molds 14, 15 having cooling means in a press 13, and then the molding is cooled and removed from the press 13.
