<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an electroluminescent element which enables a phosphor to efficiently emit light with high luminance by putting a specified luminescent phosphor layer and a specified hole transfer layer between a cathode and an anode. CONSTITUTION:An organic hole-transfer layer 4 which comprises a thin film of a triphenylamine derivative and a luminescent phosphor layer which comprises a thin organic phosphor film 7 containing a coumarin compound, e.g. a compound of the formula [wherein R<1> is H, cyano, (un)substituted aryl, alkyl, carboxyl, acyl(oxy), etc.; R<2> is H, (halo)alkyl, acyloxy, carboxyl or cyano; R<3> is H, OH or aryl; R<4> is R<3>, alkyl, alkoxy, acyl or glycoside; R<5> is H, OH, alkoxy, acyloxy, (alkyl)amino, etc.; R<6> is H or alkyl], are laminated and put between a metallic electrode 1, which is a cathode and comprises a thin film of a metal having a small work function, and a transparent electrode 2, which is an anode and comprises a thin film of a conductive material having a large work function.</p> |
