PURPOSE:To stably mass-produce high-quality SiC whisker by adopting technique for generation of furnace carbon black to mixing of both the raw material of an Si source and carbon material and sticking carbon black on the surfaces of SiO2 particles and solidifying it thereon. CONSTITUTION:Hydrocarbon stock oil is injected into high-temp. combustion gas current and carbon black is produced by thermal cracking reaction. Fine SiO2 powder is introduced into a high-temp. system below the water-cooling position by suspending fine SiO2 powder in spray water used to cool it. SiO2 particles stuck with carbon black on the surfaces thereof are collected. Then the collected mixture dispersed with C-SiO2 is heated at 1,300-1,800 deg.C under a nonoxidative atmosphere. |
