PURPOSE:To maintain high sealing performance at all times by forming a glass guide section in the hollow lip of a weather strip fixed on the peripheral section of the opening of a car body, and thereby forming a thin wall section for deflection guiding at a place close to the tip end section of seal section. CONSTITUTION:The inside section of the hollow lip 6 of a weather strip fitted on the the peripheral section of the opening of a car body is formed with a base section 3, a water arresting groove section 9 and a glass guide section 10 in such a way as to be connected with the base end section of a seal section 4 which forms a thin wall section 14 for deflection guiding. When a pane of a door glass 8 is lifted after a door has been closed in a state that the pane of door glass 8 is lower down, the seal section 4 of the hollow lip 6 is deflected so as to be deformed by the end face of the pane of door glass 8. When the pane of door glass 8 is lifted to a specified position, the seal section 4 is separated from the end face of the pane of door glass 8 so that it comes close in contact with the peripheral section at its inner side while the tip end of the seal section 4 is deflected to a great extent at the thin wall section 14, this permits the section in front of said deflected section to make face-contact with the pane of door glass 8. |
