<p>A water-immiscible org. solvent contng. extracted metal value (pref. U) is diluted with another org. solvent, miscible with it and with water, and the mixture then contacted with ion exchange resin. Spec. when the extractant is tributyl phosphate, (m)ethanol or propanol is added; when trilaurylamina, a heterocyclic solvent (pref. pyridine) is used. The acidity is adjusted before contacting with the ion-exchange resin. Small quantities only of resin are required which can be efficiently and selectively eluted using ca 1/1000 the volume of the org. mixture.</p> |
