PURPOSE:To effectively give a strip coolant effect by providing a wiper between strip coolants and roll bite coolants set up on both sides of a rolling mill and removing rolling oil stuck on the steel strip. CONSTITUTION:In the rolling mill 2, a left wiper 8 and a right wiper 9 are arranged respectively between left strip coolants 4 and left roll bite coolants 6 and between right strip coolants 5 and roll bite coolants 7. In case of rolling in the right direction, a steel strip 1 rolled by work rolls 3 is lubricated and cooled by roll bite coolants 6, 7. The rolling oil stuck on the surface of the steel strip 1 is wiped off by wipers 9. Rolling oil is spouted newly at the strip coolant nozzles 5 to lower the temperature of the steel strip 1. Thereafter, the rolling oil is wiped off by a wiper 11 and the steel strip 1 passes through a deflector roll and is taken up by a reel. |
