The seat belt strap energy dissipating device is used for seat belt systems without retractors. The seat belt strap is wound on the shaft (6) of the bobbin with flanges (8) on both ends. The bobbin is rotatably seated on axle consisting of shaft (5) and slotted screw head (11), while the end of the shaft has a thread operating in fixed nut (10) welded to leg (1) of a U-shaped bracket (3). The other leg (2) carries the scraw head (11) and between the screw head and leg (2) leaf spring (12) is fitted. Between the flanges and inner surfaces of the legs are fitted brake lining rings (9) which dissipate the kinetic energy of the uncoiling strap. (DS). |
