The mouth of the forceps is formed by two arms of the forceps which are joined together by means of a rotary hinge and, on the other side of said hinge, are coupled to a cable or a rod for traction or the like, in such a manner that the existence of weak spots is avoided and by means of which it is possible to exert a cutting force on the two sides of the forceps. To this end, the traction cable 6 is connected to a guide element 7 with at least one guide channel 8, 9, 14, 16 in which engages at least one lever projection 10, 11, 15 configured on the arm of the forceps 1, 2, 13 exactly on the other side from the rotary hinge 4 or, alternatively, from a rotation point 8. <IMAGE>
