The hinge joint comprises two hinge spindles (1, 2) spaced apart on a connecting member (4). One of the components (6, 7) to be joined together hinges on each spindle. The spindles can be parallel, and on opposite sides of a recess (11) formed in the member. A locking device (16, 17) can be provided, securing each component to the member. This can comprise a washer turning with each spindle, and a double-armed lever (19) pivoting on the member. One end of the lever engages in a peripheral groove in one washer, while the other bears against the periphery of the other one. ADVANTAGE - Allows cupboard door to open through nearly 180 deg., while mounted on the inside.
