In a regulation device for a stabilised power circuit, receiving an input signal which is supplied to it by an external electrical energy source 2, and deriving an output signal the amplitude of which is regulated at every instant as a function of the consumption required by a circuit 3 using this output signal, the said user circuit possibly exhibiting two opposite consumption states, the one of high consumption, the other of low consumption, and the said power supply circuit including a transistor 1, 10, called ballast transistor, connected between the external electrical energy source and the user circuit, and first biasing means for providing variable bias of this transistor as a function of the consumption required by the user circuit, second biasing means are provided for providing fixed biasing of the ballast transistor, and means for carrying out switching between the first and second biasing means, or conversely, according to whether the consumption of the user circuit is low or high, or conversely, so as to enhance the reaction time in the presence of significant and rapid variations in consumption. <IMAGE>
