The invention relates to a safety arrangement for motor vehicles in the form of a collision protection device in which the pot-shaped housing of the sensor (12) to activate the ignition device (18) of the gas generator (7) has a shape suited to the flange (8) of the gas generator housing (9) and is connected thereto in such a way that part of the gas generator housing (9) is taken into it, thus providing an air-gap (15) shielded against electromagnetic interference.
