A device for exerting pre-load on the roller bearing of a motor and suitably used for a high speed motor, in which a spring (6) for exerting pre-load is put in between a journal box (5) abutting the outer race (9) of the bearing and an adjusting disk (7) which is supported on the flange (41) of the sensor base with set screws (8) so as to be adjustable in the thrust direction so that an amount P of the pre-load may easily be adjusted by adjusting the set screws (8).
