<p>PURPOSE:To realize a stable slow motion reproducing picture by controlling a timing applying brake to a capstan motor in response to the detection data of a pulse width of a signal based on a dropout detection signal. CONSTITUTION:A pulse width of a signal based on a detection signal of a dropout detection means 25 detecting a dropout of a reproduced video signal from rotary magnetic heads 81, 82, 91, 92 at standstill of a magnetic tape 1 is detected separately after and before both edges of a head switching signal based on the rotating phase of a cylinder motor 2 and tracking error information is outputted in response to the four detection data by a tracking error detection means (automatic tracking processing circuit) 24 and an intermittent drive means 23 controls the timing to brake the capstan motor 6 by the tracking error information. Thus, a stable automatic slow tracking function is realized even for a tape 1 elongated or contracted, or with its interchangeability deteriorated due to environmental change.</p> |
