A tape cassette contains sheets 14, 15, located between the ends of a hub or hubs 4, 5 in the cassette and the interior walls of the cassette, at least one sheet carrying printed matter facing outwardly. The sheets may be curved at their edges to space the reels from the interior walls and may be of lubricating material. They may also be conductive, or insulating but with conductive ink, in order to reduce static. Frosted regions may be provided outside and inside the cassette to receive and display pencilled markings, indicating the amount of use of the tape.
