<p>PURPOSE:To simplify the setting of a parameter for executing a supervisory regulation of a packet by estimating a generation type of the packet, based on a report parameter. CONSTITUTION:This regulator is provided with a packet generating device 1, a peak speed supervisory regulator 5, a regulator 7, a counter 9, a timer 11, a comparator 13, and a memory 15. In this state, the maximum number of packets to be sent out within a prescribed period is set, and also, the number of packets generated within the prescribed period is counted, this count value is compared with the maximum number of packets to be sent out, and in case of the count value being larger than the maximum number of packets to be sent out, the generation of the packet from a packet generation source is regulated. In such a way, the report parameter can be set easily, and also, by supporting such a packet generation type as a delay of the packet becomes maximum, based on the reported parameter, the capacity of a bus or a transmission line which comes to necessary in case of a statistical multiplex transmission of the packet is executed and the transmission is executed by satisfying a prescribed quality can be calculated efficiently.</p> |
