A bed frame (1) consisting of two U-shaped end sections (2) interconnected by side bars (3) with slats (4) forming a furniture bottom. The side bars being provided, on the interior side (10), with through recesses (11) for housing said slats in an arbitrary or a predetermined position, e.g. by means of plastic lining with pockets for each slat. The side bars (3) and/or the end sections (2) being formed out of a metal sheet, the free longitudinal edges of which forming part of the frame bottom (12) by overlapping each other and constituting the load carrying side of said recesses. The one of these longitudinal edges being bent around the other to form triple wall thickness. The upper and/or the lower side of side bars (3) and end sections (2) contain dovetail-shaped through grooves (13) for receiving fasteners (22) and a ticking (23). The frame may be manufactured as a welded unity or as a set to be assembled by customers. |
