PURPOSE:To compensate the distortion of deflection with high accuracy by providing a means for detecting the distortion component of deflection included in a current which flows in a main deflecting coil and an auxiliary deflecting current control means. CONSTITUTION:The display is provided with the auxiliary deflecting coil means 30 for performing the auxiliary deflection of an electron beam in a horizontal direction, the main deflecting coil current detection means 20 and 21, a deflection distortion detection means 28 for detecting the distortion component of deflection included in the output signals of the current detection means 20 and 21 and an amplifier means 29 for supplying a deflection distortion compensating current to the auxiliary deflecting coil means 30 in accordance with the output from the deflection distortion detection means 28. Therefore, the auxiliary deflection of the electron beam of a CRT is carried out by driving the auxiliary deflecting current control means in proportion to the detected component of the deflection. Thus, the deterioration of secondary distortion on a screen caused by the temperature dependency and the frequency dependency of the loss resistance of the main deflecting coil is automatically compensated. |
