PURPOSE:To align light axes under the state that a semiconductor P-N junction element does not emit light, by inputting light signals, which are modulated by different frequencies from the two directions of the input part and the output apart of the semiconductor P-N junction element. CONSTITUTION:A pair of light input and output parts 16 and 16', which is optically coupled with the active layer of a semiconductor P-N junction element 1, is fixed on a mount with the light axes being aligned to each other. Light signals, which are modulated by different frequencies f1 and f2, are simultaneously inputted to both end surfaces of the semiconductor P-N junction element 1 from the pair of input and output parts 16 and 16'. The position of the semiconductor P-N junction element 1 is adjusted so that the change in terminal voltage of the semiconductor junction element 1 becomes the maximum value. When the adjustment is finished, the semiconductor P-N junction element 1 is fixed on the mount. |
