<p>A weighing apparatus for a vehicle (15) having tines (16) in which a ramp (60) is mounted on each tine (16) in front of and in spaced relation to a weighing load bearing plates (40). The ramp (60) and the confronting weighing load bearing plates (40) are not mechanically joined. Below each weighing load bearing plates (40) are load cells (21) for emitting changes in signals representative of the weight of a load on the weighing load bearing plates (40). As the load advances toward the weighing load bearing plates (40), the ramps (60) attenuate excessive forces and shock resulting from the load advancing onto the weighing load bearing plates (40). As a consequence thereof, the load cells (21) are not subject to the excessive shocks or forces of an advancing load.</p> |
