PURPOSE:To easily correct vehicle positions by automatically executing the switching of a display screen from a wide area map to a detail map and the switching from the detail map to the wide area map in order to correct and check the vehicle position on the detail map from the wide area map. CONSTITUTION:The information necessary for a control circuit 7 to make various kinds of computation and control processing are temporarily stored in a RAM 11. The program for calculating the present position of the vehicle and the processing program for changing the display screen according to the traveling directions of the vehicle, etc., are stored in a ROM 13. The respective output signals of a distance sensor 1, a bearing sensor 3 and a keyboard 5 are inputted to the circuit 7. Whether the display of a CRT 9 is the wide area map or the detail map is judged if the positional deviation of the vehicle from the actual traveling position arises on the wide area map or the detail map at this time. The display is changed from the wide area map to the detail map if the position is on the wide area map. The position is returned as it is to the original position if the display position on the detail map is correct. The vehicle position is corrected again if the position is incorrect. |
