PURPOSE: To reflect light in a broad, uniformly distributed pattern, by providing a structured reflective surface having a linear array of isosceles prism reflecting elements, and each element including a pair of reflective surfaces at an angle of about 120 deg. therebetween and a groove at an angle of 120 deg. between the adjoining reflective surfaces. CONSTITUTION: A reflecting sheeting material 20 includes reflective elements 22 each having a pair of reflective surfaces 24, and each pair of reflective surfaces 24 form a reflective groove 26 therebetween. The angle A between the reflective surfaces 24 is 120 deg., and incident light 27 normal to a flat surface of the sheeting material 20 collides with one reflective surface 24 and is reflected as reflected light 28 parallel to the other adjoining surface 24 at an angle of B(60 deg.) to the incident light 27 and at angle of C or 30 deg. to the flat surface of the sheeting material 29. As the reflective sheeting material, A1 or steel can be used, and also a metalized plastic material is used. |
