PURPOSE:To prevent useless waste of a battery by providing a busy tone detection means switching the talking state in to the standby state when a busy tone is detected for a prescribed time or the prescribed number of times to a cordless telephone slave set. CONSTITUTION:When on-hook control is not implemented at a master set side 1, the talking state continues between a slave set 6 and the master set 1 and the master set 1 sends a busy tone to the slave set 6. The busy tone is detected by a busy tone detection circuit 14 via a transmitter-receiver 11 of the slave set 6 and a controller 15 counts the number of times of reception (reception time) of the busy tone detected by the busy tone detection circuit 14 to control the state of the slave set 6 from the talking state to the standby state when the prescribed number of times (a prescribed time) is counted. Thus, when the slave set 6 restores to the standby state, the current consumption from a secondary battery 7 is decreased, the power consumption is reduced to suppress useless battery wear. |
