PURPOSE:To enhance the storage stability against heat, moisture and oil when a phnolic compound is used as a coupler by adding a specific metal organophosphate in a color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material provided with a color forming layer containing a usually colorless-light-colored color forming substance and a coupler containing a phenolic compound represented by formula (I) developing said color forming substance at the time of heating, at least one kind of metal organophosphates represented by formulae (II), (III) are contained in the color forming layer. In the formulae (II), (III), R1 and R2 are respectively a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an alkenyl group, R3 is a group represented by formula (IV) or -CO-O-R7, X is a direct bond, an alkylidene group, -O-, -S-, -SO2- or -S-R8-S-, R6 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, R8 is an alkylene groups which may have an ether bond, R7 is an alkyl group, an aryl group or a group represented by formula (V), R4 and R5 are respectively an alkyl group or an aryl group and M is a divalent metal. |
