PURPOSE:To contrive to enhance a noise-preventing effect and to reduce loss of ignition energy by a method wherein at least a spark discharge part of at least one of a rotor electrode and a fixed electrode is formed on a foamed metal having an insulator embedded in pores and recesses. CONSTITUTION:The distributor is so constructed that a high voltage supplied from a high-voltage cable to the rotor electrode 3 through a central terminal 7 is distributed to the fixed electrode 6 by rotating a rotor 5 through a cam shaft 2 synchronously with the revolution of the engine. In this case, at least the spark discharge part of the rotor electrode 3 is formed of the foamed metal 11 with the insulator 12 embedded in the pores and recesses of the metal 11. A silicone base insulator, water glass or the like is used as the insulator 12, and it is charged into the pores and the like, for example, by immersing the metal 11 part of the electrode 3 into it in a fluid condition. By using this rotor electrode 3, a sufficient noise-preventing effect can be obtained and the loss of ignition energy can be reduced. |
