The invention relates to the novel industrial product which is a pressure cooker wherein the seal is the key element on which the whole of the system depends. It consists of a body 1 having two handles 6 and machined to take the O-ring 17 with lip 18 in its internal groove 4. The lid 2 is likewise machined to take this seal and provide a first sealing action between the two walls 4 and 7. Regulation takes place, as pressure rises over a heat source, by means of a pierced block and needle 9-10-11-12-13-14-15-16 fitted to the centre of the lid. The seal ensures the operation and safety of the apparatus. <IMAGE>
