According to the invention, the waste - in particular domestic waste - which has previously had metal elements, glass and fermentable products removed from it, is subjected, before a compression operation in a hydraulic press 5 equipped with a heating block 8 at the outlet, to centrifugal forces in a feed device 2 of the Archimedes screw type to cause the enrichment in the surface of the plastic materials contained in the waste.
