PURPOSE:To provide a data setting device for an image forming device which can quickly approach to desired set data by constituting the setting device so that data count progressing amount with respect to the rotation angle of an input handle can be optionally adjusted. CONSTITUTION:The input handle 7 of the data setting device A for a copying machine is supported to freely slide by a supporting mechanism 10 whose main component is a mounting hole 10a formed on the main body cover 10b of a control panel B. A speed-up switch 11 which is a switching means for specifying the data converting magnification corresponding to a pulse signal from a pulse encoder (pulse generator) 8 at multi levels by sliding the input handle 7 is provided on the extension of the rotary shaft 7a of the input handle 7. Since the desired count progressing amount with respect to the rotation angle of the input handle is accurately grasped with such constitution, the desired data is quickly set.
