PURPOSE:To produce various color toners with high productivity in a single production line by carrying out a stage for producing a precursor of a toner contg. the constituents of the toner except a coloring pigment and a stage for embedding the pigment in the surfaces of the particles of the precursor. CONSTITUTION:A fixing resin is kneaded with compounding ingredients for a toner except a coloring pigment and this kneaded material is pulverized and classified to produce a precursor of the toner contg. no coloring pigment. This precursor is mixed with the coloring pigment at a temp. below the melting or softening point of the fixing resin under high shearing force and high compressive force. By friction between them, the pigment is pulverized to primary particles, the fixing resin in the surfaces of the particles of the precursor is softened by frictional heat and the pigment is embedded in the softened resin in the form of primary particles. Various color toners can be produced with high productivity in a single production line. |
