PURPOSE:To uniformize the contacting force of a part which contacts with a latent image carrier having rigidity by providing a magnetic particle layer and a flexible thin tube-like surface layer which covers the magnetic particle layer on the surface of a developer carrier. CONSTITUTION:In a developing roller 1, a magnetic field generation means 4 is formed on a non-magnetic cylinder 3 made of stainless steel, etc., which can rotate surrounding a permanent magnet 2 fixed to the machine frame of a developing device. Enclosed space is formed inside the flexible thin tube-like surface layer 5 surrounding the non-magnetic cylinder 3 and the magnetic particle layer 6 is formed by filling the space with magnetic particles. The magnetic particle layer 6 is provided within a range where the magnetic field generated by the magnetic field generation means 4 inside influences. Since the latent image carrier is brought into contact with the developing roller with uniform pressure or uniform nip width in virtue of the existence of the inner layer, an image with uniform density is obtained. |
