PURPOSE:To easily obtain a centroid in a short period of time by obtaining the centroid in a prescribed direction in each label based on 1st-order and 0th- order moments obtained for each label. CONSTITUTION:Picture data read out of a picture memory 2 is compared with the threshold obtained from a latch circuit 3 to binarize picture data. Labels are added to a continuous part of binarized object picture data to generate a labeled picture. The 1st-order moment in a prescribed direction of picture data to which each label is added and the 0th-order moment of the picture data are obtained, and the centroid in the prescribed direction is obtained in each label based on 1st-order and 0th-order moments obtained for each label. Thus, the centroid is easily obtained for each label in a short period of time. |
