The assembly, of which the vehicle 1 includes a chassis 4 carrying wheels and supporting a structure 5 for receiving passengers, is characterised in that: the chassis 4 carries, on one side, at least a first front wheel 13 and at least a first rear wheel 14 which are arranged to run on a rail 2 in a bilateral transverse guidance connection with the latter; the chassis 4 carries, on the other side, in general in line with the first front and rear wheels 13, 14, at least one second front wheel 16 and at least one second rear wheel 17 which are arranged to run on a track 3, the track 3, the second wheels 16, 17 and the means for supporting the latter allowing a bilateral transverse displacement of the second front and rear wheels 16, 17 with respect to the first front and rear wheels 13, 14 respectively in bends, particularly in bends with a very small radius of curvature. <IMAGE>
