PURPOSE:To detect an accurate battery remaining amount by providing a memory means to store a fuzzy inference computing program according to which a battery remaining amount is inferred from a current value and a voltage value and a computing means. CONSTITUTION:A sewing machine motor 12 is connected to a battery 11 serving as a power feed source and connected to a central computing device 9 through a motor driver 13. When a source switch mounted to a sewing machine frame 1 is turned ON, a source voltage detecting means 10 reads the source voltage value of the battery 11. A memory means 17 to store a fuzzy inference program having a fuzzy rule and a battery minimum power amount memory means 18 to store a membership value for inferring a remaining amount of the battery 11 are connected to a central computing device 9. With regard to the content of the fuzzy inference program, the membership function of a fuzzy inference is set to a battery source voltage V and a current 1 and a battery remaining amount, and from the source voltage value V and the current I, a battery remaining amount is outputted as a membership value according to a fuzzy rule.
